• Heating ventilating & air conditioning (HVAC) industry is growing rapidly due to industrial development and the need of comfort conditions to improve the life style. Various types of air conditioners, refrigerators and cooling system are being used in domestic, commercial and industrial fields. Installation, running and maintenance of them need a skilled technician.
• In YPSIT a two year course is conducted as per DGET norms. During this period a trainee learns about fundamental concept of Refrigeration and Air conditioning. He also learns complete maintenance of all type of cooling system used in cold storage, ice plant, refrigerators, air conditioners, ice candy, display cabinets, industrial driers, heat exchangers etc. he also gets practice of pipe and tube fitting duct manufacturing, brazing, welding and soldering
• The department of RAC at the institute has well furnished classroom, an up to date laboratory, qualified & experienced faculty, students of this trade get practice about tube joining processes, recovery, gas charging, retrofitting and oil changing for all types of refrigerating and A.C plant (capacity 5 ton), an A.C plant (capacity 5 ton ) all type of refrigerators, Ice candy, window A.C, split A.C, package A.C, water coolers, Heat pump and lot of cut models related to the field. It is also equipped with all types of general, refrigeration & precision tools.
• After successful completion of the training a trainee may join public or private sectors like DMRC, Railway, HZL, Cement industries etc. This training is also beneficial in getting self employment .Otherwise the option to obtain higher education like diploma engineering is also open for them as per the government rule.
